Putin mocks US democracy and declares a landslide victory in the Russian election

Vladimir Putin was always going to claim his fifth term as president with a landslide victory, even when he was forced to compete against three other candidates, all of whom were rubber-stamped by the Kremlin. No one was surprised by this. When Putin was informed by election officials that he had obtained more than 87 percent of the vote, he asserted that the democratic system in Russia was considered to be more open than the democratic systems in many Western nations.

On the whole, the democratic system in Russia was seen as more open than the democratic systems in many Western countries. There was not a single possible candidate for opposition that was permitted to run for office, and I will tell you the truth about it. Demonstrations of a symbolic nature were carried out by followers of Alexei Navalny, who was an opponent of Putin and passed away. It is important to note that these demonstrations were carried out.

Their “Noon against Putin” movement resulted in enormous lines of voters forming at midday in Russian cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in even higher numbers outside of several embassies located outside of Russia; nonetheless, this was never going to have any effect on the outcome of the election. According to the monitoring organization OVD-Info, the Russian government has apparently detained at least eighty individuals. This information was provided by the organization. After the random attacks that took place on Friday at a few polling locations, there was no following occurrence of acts of this sort. This was the case since there was no subsequent occurrence of the attacks.

There has been much condemnation from Western nations of the term “pseudo-election” in Russia. In spite of the fact that it was simple to forecast that Putin would emerge triumphant, what are the subsequent actions that will be taken?. A concerted attempt was made by the countries of the Western world to denounce the vote, claiming that it was neither free nor fair. The German government referred to it as a “pseudo-election” because to the fact that it was carried out by an authoritarian ruler who relied on repression, censorship, and cruelty.

This election was carried out in Germany. Lord Cameron, the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, has stated that “the illegal holding of elections on Ukrainian territory” is something that ought to be condemned with a great deal of seriousness. An allegation made by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, that “the Russian dictator is in the process of simulating another election” An associate of Navalny, Leonid Volkov, who was severely struck with a meat hammer when he was living in exile in Lithuania last week, stated that “the percentages drawn for Putin have, of course, not the slightest relation to reality.” Volkov was referring to the fact that Putin’s percentages are not even close to being accurate.

In the process of attacking Navalny, Volkov was using a meat hammer. In order for the Russian people to cast their votes, it took them three days, and the inhabitants who live in the parts of Ukraine that are occupied by Russia were given even more time to do so. During that time period, an effort was made to convince folks to act in this manner, and this was carried out.
